A vibrant topographic meditation on Morocco, the Patches tapestries by artist Fingacode translate memory into form, mapping the landscapes, traditions, and cultural imprints that shaped the artist’s experience of his travel. Earthy browns evoke the boundless Sahara, while deep blues trace the embrace of the Mediterranean and Atlantic. Lush greens recall the forests of Azrou and the ritual of mint tea. The soft pinks and bold reds celebrate Morocco’s rich history of artisanal craft and its enduring cultural influence. Each color, a fragment of place and time, comes together as a tactile homage to Morocco’s layered identity.

Junior Ngoma, known in the digital art world as Fingacode, is a software engineer and multidisciplinary creative, born in Cameroon, and now living in the United Kingdom. Technologically inquisitive from a young age, Ngoma has made a name for himself in the rapidly evolving world of digital art through years of experimenting with coding and new creative technologies. A master of self-teaching, Ngoma thrives on the unexpected nature of the algorithmic process and is happy to exploit coding anomalies that suit his aesthetic sensibilities as a chance to take his work in a fresh direction. He often uses bold elements, dynamic visual patterns, and cultural inspirations such as music and ancestral heritage. He pushes himself to continually grow his repertoire of technology skills, most recently through a deeper study of generative motion graphics.
