Artist Linda Dounia contemplates memory, loss, and change in her poetic collection of area carpets, titled "A Staircase Home." Her artwork is designed through an algorithm built around her memory of her childhood home. The staircase motif climbs back and forth in each of 12 unique designs—at varying heights and angles in a mix of earthy and vibrant tones. Conceived on an exploratory trip to Morocco where the medium for her collection was chosen, the works also take inspiration from Moroccan artisanal traditions.
